Ron Hamm, Senior Advisor
Ron Hamm and Leslie Mozingo have worked together for more than 15 years. One of their biggest successes included over $88 million in downtown riverfront redevelopment and other projects in appropriations and authorizations; nearly $47 million in federal competitive grants; and several legislative, regulatory and Administrative accomplishments for the City of Memphis, TN when they were the City’s Washington lobbyists for more than a decade.
They have also worked together for, among others, King County, WA; Broward County, FL; and Mecklenburg County, NC, and currently Ron works with Strategics Consulting for the City of Winston-Salem, NC.
Ron’s portfolio separately boasts numerous major accomplishments over his two decades of federal government consulting and lobbying work for local government, colleges and universities, and more, but here are just a few examples:
- Establishment of the first National Heritage Area West of Mississippi River, and only one of the 49 Heritage Areas in the United States;
- Worked with community colleges and other institutions of higher education to secure more than $30 million over a ten-year period for initiatives such as cybersecurity and forensics; and
- Specializes in representing HBCU’s like Alabama A&M University, where from 1999 to 2009 worked to build its Research Institute, helping to secure federal infrastructure and programmatic support of $12.75 million for the Institute, which was then leveraged to generate up to $32 million annually in grants and contracts for the Research Institute while providing excellent research and internship, and employment opportunities for its students.
A native of eastern North Carolina, Ron earned his bachelor degree in Finance at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and an MBA degree from Virginia Tech University.
