Amy Kirschbaum, Grants Director
Amy first began her career on Capitol Hill where she worked as a legislative aide in the office of the late Congressman E. Clay Shaw, Jr. from Florida. She was also the primary legislative aide for the U.S. Congressional Sunbelt Caucus, a bipartisan coalition of 150 Southerners in the House of Representatives. Her primary issues were the environment, energy and transportation.
Amy and Leslie first started working together in 1988 when Leslie was hired to be the Congressman’s receptionist. They have been friends ever since. In 1992, Amy left DC and moved west to Oregon where she continued her career in public affairs at Oregon Department of Transportation and with a regional government, working on parks and open spaces issues. Before becoming a government affairs and legislative specialist for Strategics Consulting, Amy was the Executive Director of a nonprofit advocating for and supporting women with ovarian cancer.
Amy grew up in Broward County, FL and earned BA in Public Policy from Duke University in Durham, NC.
